Overview
Amanda is a local-first legal memory service.
By default, Amanda does not collect, store, or transmit your personal legal data. All legal information you enter is stored only on your own device.
Amanda is designed so that your legal memory remains under your control.
What Amanda does not collect
Amanda does not receive your personal legal information.
This includes — but is not limited to — your residency data, property details, travel history, and obligation records.
These remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.
Local device storage
Amanda stores information locally on your device using your browser's secure IndexedDB storage.
This may include:
- personal profile information
- legal facts (residency, property ownership, etc.)
- obligation deadlines
- filing records
- application preferences
This information does not leave your device.
You may remove this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data or by using Amanda's export and delete features.
Third-party infrastructure
Amanda uses infrastructure services required to operate the site.
These services may collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, and access timestamps for security and reliability purposes.
This information is not linked to your legal profile.
Cookies
Amanda does not use tracking cookies.
Infrastructure providers may set essential technical cookies required for site operation.
You may control cookie behaviour through your browser settings.
Data security
Because your legal memory is stored locally on your device, you remain responsible for securing your device.
Amanda recommends:
- using a secure, up-to-date browser
- protecting your device with a password or biometrics
- exporting and backing up important legal records periodically
Children
Amanda is not intended for persons under the age of 16.
